So you need a custom Discord bot (and probably a website too)
If you run a Discord server that is starting to feel like a real thing, a community, a shop, a project, you eventually hit the same wall everyone hits. The public bots get you 80% of the way, and then the last 20% is exactly the part you care about. This post is the guide we wish people had when they came to us asking for a custom Discord bot, a custom website, or both.
What a custom Discord bot is actually for
A custom Discord bot is not "MEE6 but mine". It is the logic your server runs on, shaped around how you actually work. The stuff people come to us for, over and over:
- Tickets and support that open a private channel, log a transcript, and ping the right people, instead of DMs getting lost.
- Payments and orders handled in Discord, crypto or card, with receipts and a proper order trail.
- Moderation and roles that match your rules, not a generic preset: onboarding flows, reaction roles, invite tracking, leveling.
- Automation so your team stops doing the same five clicks a hundred times a day.
The point of a custom Discord bot is that it does your weird specific thing without you bending your whole server to fit someone else's tool.
When the free bots stop being enough
Honestly, for a long time they are fine. Use them. The moment to move is usually one of these:
- You are stacking four or five bots and they keep stepping on each other.
- You are paying monthly for premium tiers and still cannot get the one feature you need.
- You are copy-pasting the same manual steps every single day.
- Something important (money, access, data) is being handled by a bot you do not control.
That last one is the real tipping point. Once a bot touches payments or member data, "good enough" stops being good enough.
Why a custom website beats a template
The other half of this is the website. A lot of communities and small businesses run on a Linktree and a Discord invite, and that is genuinely fine to start. But a custom website is what makes you look like a real operation instead of a hobby.
A good custom website built on something like Next.js gives you:
- Speed. Fast pages score better on Google and do not make people bounce.
- SEO you own. Real pages, real metadata, real content people can actually find.
- Your brand, not a theme. It looks like you, not like every other template buyer.
- Room to grow. A blog, a status page, a dashboard, all on the same stack.
A landing page is the cheap, high-leverage version of this. One sharp page that loads fast and says exactly what you do beats a slow, busy template every time.
The part most people miss: pairing the two
Here is the thing almost nobody sets up, and the thing we like building most. Your Discord bot and your website should be one system, not two strangers.
When they share data, your site can show live community stats, your team page can pull real Discord presence, your bot can hand customers a download link your site minted, and your dashboard can run the whole thing from one place. That is the difference between "a bot and a site" and an actual product.
What it costs and how we work
We try to be honest about this instead of hiding behind "contact us for a quote". A custom Discord bot starts small and scales with the features you pick. A landing page is a fixed, friendly number. A full project, bot plus site plus dashboard, costs more because it is more, and we will tell you which one you actually need even when it is the cheaper one.
If you want a real number, the estimator on our pricing page builds one from the parts you pick, and you can copy or download it to think about later. No sales call required.
The short version
If your Discord server is doing real work, get a custom Discord bot before you duct-tape five public ones together. If you are trying to be found and taken seriously, get a custom website, even if it is just one fast landing page. And if you are doing both, build them as one system from the start. That is the whole trick.
If that sounds like your situation, come talk to us in Discord. We build exactly this, and we are honest about what you do and do not need.
